Breaking changes 2
The bundled PDFKit implementation switches from the @react-pdf/pdfkit fork to upstream pdfkit, which may affect PDF generation behavior.
Direct layout callers must provide instance arrays when render props return React elements; renderer users are unaffected.
New APIs and options 4
Adds a conformance prop for PDF/A-1/2/3 output with XMP metadata and sRGB OutputIntent; pdfVersion defaults to the chosen level’s requirement, and registered fonts are needed for full validation.
Adds an opt-in pagination engine that measures content once and packs it into pages, making long documents much faster to paginate.
Adds per-page layout components for headers, footers, and sidebars; the component receives page metadata and content as children.
Exposes hyphenationPenalty on Text props, allowing developers to configure this text behavior.
Behavior and default changes 1
Supports minPresenceAhead in the new engine, keeping a trailing element in place when nothing follows it.
Fixes and other changes 2
Under experimental pagination, in-flow fixed elements repeat at the top of every page they span; footers must be implemented through layout.
Fixed border rendering behavior for generated documents.
